The All-American Boy – Disorderly drama in reference to Olympic aspirant Voight's attempt to be a successful boxer; eye-catching locations of northern California, but that is all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes, 1989)
The Interpreter – U.N. translator Silvia Broome overhears a death threat made against an African leader. She knows that she was watched and fears for her life. Upon reporting the event to law enforcement, she finds that assistance will not come easy.
Hanky Panky – Blameless designer Wilder is pursued by snoops, cops, etc. Conventional, hardly ridiculous comedy-thriller, with Radner miscast as the love interest. The movie was intended to be a follow-up to Stir Crazy, although Richard Pryor's part was modified for Gilda. You've watched it all before, and more superior. Cast includes Gene Wilder, Gilda Radner, Kathleen Quinlan, Richard Widmark, Robert Prosky, Josef Sommer, and Johnny Sekka. (88 minutes, 1982)
The Bourne Ultimatum – In the third film of the succession, Jason Bourne is still being hunted by those who had educated him into the extreme assassin that he is. Having lost his memory when almost being murdered, Bourne is retracing his past to try to know who he was, and why everyone wants him dead. All his skills are put to the test, as the C.I.A. is unyielding in its effort to have him eliminated. Starring Matt Damon and Julia Stiles.
Ruby Gentry – Turgid, strolling account of simple-minded Southerner Jones wedding well-off Malden to spite Heston, the gentleman she loves Cast includes Jennifer Jones, Charlton Heston, Karl Malden, and Josephine Hutchinson. (82 minutes, 1952)
10,000 B.C. – Warlords have attacked a small mountain tribe in prehistoric times. They have captured the exquisite Evolet. D'Leh, who loves Evolet, leads a small party of men prepared to go the ends of the Earth to rescue Evolet.
In Enemy Country – So-so designer of WW2 enthrall, set in France and England, filmed on a back-lot. Not especially persuading. Cast includes Tony Franciosa, Anjanette Comer, Guy Stockwell, Paul Hubschmid, Tom Bell, and Emile Genest. (107 minutes, 1968)
Richard's Things – Widow Ullmann is seduced by her late husband's lady friend. Screenplay by Frederic Raphael based on his novel. Cast includes Liv Ullmann, Amanda Redman, Tim Smith, Elizabeth Spriggs, and David Markha. (104 minutes, 1980)
Forgetting Sarah Marshall – Here is a romantic comedy set in a picturesque resort in Hawaii. After being dumped by his girlfriend Sarah, he at last decides to go to Hawaii to get over the loss. Unfortunately, when he goes to check in at the resort, the first person he sees is Sarah, and of course her new boyfriend.
